From one to two; I cannot believe how much you’ve grown this past year. You have the best little personality and you are so so funny. From walking to running in for hugs, to climbing and jumping off of everything. You have such a kind soul. I love talking with you and hearing your sweet voice. I hope you stay wild and keep exploring life. Here’s to turning TWO. 2️⃣

My husband and I took off work for my son’s birthday. It felt like the most perfect day. We’re not just celebrating his birthday but also celebrating the day we became parents. The day I became a mama. How has it been 2 years? We woke him up with balloons and singing happy birthday. He came downstairs to all his stuffies waiting for him wearing little party hats (the cutest trend, thanks instagram). Something that I will keep doing until he’s older. His reaction was everything. The first thing he said was “George has a hat!” And then he noticed the presents. 😂
One gift we got our son was a little kids digital camera that actually works. He absolutely loves it. He’s always messing with my camera on my phone; I still have random photos of his little feet and of the dogs. We thought it’d be fun to see what pictures he took over the weekend with family. We also got him a slide. He took all his stuffies down the slide with him. The cutest thing ever.
We went out to breakfast (his favorite meal) and then went to build-a-bear. He hasn’t gone anywhere without bear; bear now goes with us everywhere. He was so excited. I think my favorite part was him making a wish with the heart. He hasn’t stopped saying “I made bear” and “heart.” Also him carrying his bear out in the “house” (box). My heart was just melting all morning.

We celebrated the rest of his birthday with family. Playing, pizza, hockey, and cake. His aunt b & uncle j got him a blower bubble machine. So many bubbles everywhere, haha. I think my favorite part was him blowing bubbles on everyone. His Grammy & Grampy got him a Bruins jersey; it’s the cutest thing ever. I can’t wait for him to wear it for the rest of the games this season.
It was just the best day. Beau was so happy and just so excited to say I’m two! We needed that day together as a family.

We all went out Friday night while the grandparents watched Beau. We didn’t get a chance to do that last year because there was a huge snow storm. So this year we were going out all together like old times. The night out with all of us; the aunts & uncles. Dinner, drinks, and D&B. I think we spent the majority of our credits on this game. Seriously, what a fun game. I hit the bonus round and ended it on that though. Until we all played pac man together before leaving; I was out so fast. 😂
We ended with a night cap at our favorite local bar. The band was just finishing up when we got there; live music of any kind is my favorite. Everyone played darts and just talked. The whole night was an 11/10.
I woke up to Beau in the morning around 7a, got him up and ready to go run into our bedroom to give dada a hug. Then Beau and I went to the kitchen and made muffins together. While I got everything out, I had him put the baking cups in the muffin pan. He helps stir but mainly wants to eat the batter. Typical toddler. We then kept watching the muffins rise together in between playing. B and I set up the banner and balloons for the party. We got to relax for a while before everyone else got there. I love slow mornings like this on the weekends.

His birthday party theme was two infinity & beyond. We have such a funny memory of this line from when he was around 18 months; a story we’ll tell him about when he’s older to make him laugh & probably embarrass him a little bit. Toy Story was his first movie that he actually enjoyed. We did just a family birthday party. Beau had all his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents there. It was such a fun and relaxing party. Spending time with family is priceless.
While Beau napped, everyone set up his new toys for him to wake up to. I went and rested during his nap like I usually do. I needed some quiet time to myself to decompress. I know there’s other people out there who feel the same way. It’s like you need to recharge your social battery.
That post nap excitement about everyone being there after waking up was adorable; even if he was a little shy at first. I’ll take all the mama snuggles I can get. We played, had a snack, and headed out to go bowling for the first time.

The video of Beau bowling for the first time is the cutest thing ever. He was so excited about it. At home, he always pushes cars and other toys down the “ramp” so I knew he’d freak out over bowling. Grammy introduced him to the arcade area too, they got to play a few games together and won a prize. He had the best time.
We went home and after nigh nigh time, we had our game night. Some catchphrase & telestrations after dark. Talking and hanging out. The next big family event (the one of the year) is J & B’s wedding in April. We’re literally so excited to celebrate them. The countdown is on!
Sunday was very chill; much needed for daylight savings. Literally the worst thing to deal with as a parent. Arizona & Hawaii has it the best, never having to deal with it. We’ll survive it though. It’s just a challenge. We actually had a really good morning. Playing & cartoons. Looking through the pictures he took on his camera over the long weekend was my favorite. So worth it. We did a lot but I’ll cherish these memories forever. I can’t wait to see what other photos he takes. To see the world through his eyes.
Genuinely questioning: How do other parents deal with daylight savings time?
Cheers.
